Rampant Multimedia provides restoration, production and mastering services for music, audio and sound design. Our services include restoring and mastering legacy audio from sources such as cassette audience recordings, mastering commercial releases to CD and vinyl, editing and file size reduction on internet radio shows, preparation and integration of audio into Flash movies and much more.

Restoration, such as noise reduction and click and hum removal is performed using Waves Restoration software. Click removal is also done manually, which can give better results than using filtering. Mastering is done with Waves Masters software and in some cases EQs from companies such as URS.

Restoration		Broadband noise reduction and removal of crackle, clicks and hum are performed using Waves Restoration software. Click removal is also done manually, which can give better results than using filtering. We also can repair or at least mitigate many structural problems such as dropouts or imbalance between stereo channels.
Mastering		Mastering is done with Waves Masters software and in some cases EQs from companies such as URS. For mastering we can set a brick wall final peak level to industry standard headroom such as -0.3 or -0.5 dB. We are experienced with choosing MP3 settings that will yield optimum sound quality in relation to the effort to minimize final file size for download speed.
Transfer cassette material to digital files		Material is transferred using a Marantz PMD-502 deck into a Digidesign Digi 002 Rack at up to 24-bit at 96 kHz as specified per client.
Transfer stereo minidisc material to digital files		Material is transferred using a Sony MDS-E10 into a Digidesign Digi 002 Rack using a digital connection.
Concert or other contiguous recording file separation		Concert recordings are often broken up into separate songs so that someone listening to a final CD will be able to listen to the entire concert all the way through without breaks or pops, yet be able to jump to the beginning of each tune as desired.
Proofing		The final stereo master is monitored to assure that there are no residual clicks or other audio problems. The heads and tails (fade-ins and fade-outs) are also completed.
Burn master CD-R		We can burn master CD-R discs as either data files as specified or as Red Book standard audio.
Audio file formats		Rampant Multimedia can provide audio CD-Rs that can be played on standard CD players. We can also provide audio files in the following formats: WAV, AIF, Sound Designer II, MP3 and more.
